Canis Major Silken Windhounds

Reese is proof that the dog you need will come into your life at just the right time. After we lost Dreamy, Josh's former SAR partner and the last of our Beaucerons, we knew we would be getting another silken. I had hoped for a female show/sport prospect, so when I was first told of this guy who needed a home, I declined. After I had done so I showed my husband the photo of this little guy and told him he was in need of a home, but that I had said no. He was shocked. He asked me why not us? I told him that he was unregistered and that I was hoping for a show and performance prospect for my next pup. His response- "Well, I want him!" So I let my friend know we would take him. I picked him up at SilkenFest 2022.
Josh could not be happier. Reese has a ton of toy, lure and food drive, but is not as biddable as Calcifer. He is also a very sensitive boy who takes things to heart. He loves to snuggle. Reese is calm but aloof in public and has what I would consider a more typical sighthound personality.
He has helped to heal Josh's heart in the same way Calcifer has healed mine, they are best buddies.
